2021 Mini Sessions
Each year we look forward to seeing past couples and their growing families, as well as meeting amazing new couples and families for our annual mini sessions! Usually, we are trying to squeeze these sessions in at the last moment since weddings have been our main focus for the last 9 years. 2020 has given us a new perspective and appreciation for family and lifestyle photography. It’s such a privilege to capture your family, whether its a family of two or ten, toddlers or fur babies, and we can’t wait to see you again!
This year we have planned four Mini Session weekends for 2021 available for booking depending on the season you are most interested. These weekends are reserved on a first come, first serve basis and you can reserve your date and time below.
Lake Geneva Wedding Photographers | Chicago Autumn Wedding - Sarah & Scott
This was our very last wedding of 2020 and I can’t think of a better way to have capped it all off. Sarah & Scott were absolutely amazing navigating all the changes just days before their wedding as the Chicago area began shutting back down again. Many of their plans may have changed, but it didn’t seem to phase them or the joy and celebration that was October 31st, 2020. They decided on changing their reception space to a small intimate gathering with their closest family and friends at a friend’s beautiful home in the suburbs. It truly was such an honor to capture and witness such a sacred day. 2020 has changed how we see weddings and it’s all been because of the most incredible couples this year who decided that their love couldn’t be canceled. We celebrate Sarah & Scott. Their attitudes, their joy, their ability to roll with all the punches 2020 may have brought their way. If every couple can get through the challenges of what 2020 brought and still decide to tie the knot regardless what what or how they envisioned their day to be, then we truly believe they’re going to be able to weather the storm. Because marriage isn’t perfect. It’s full of a few unseen 2020’s. But, it’s about the commitment to saying yes every single day even if the circumstances surrounding you aren’t perfect. …and even though Sarah & Scott’s plans may have changed, we think it turned out even more perfect than the original plan. These two are the real deal and they showed every bit of that during this season. We respect and appreciate them both! Enjoy all the beauty from their perfect day!

As much as we’re looking forward to this upcoming year, we’re also so thankful for Caitlin & Mark’s intimate wedding ceremony and getting to be there to capture their first look and “I do’s”. This a really special one for us. This fall, Jordan’s cousin Heather married her very best friend and Jordan got to capture all the love (Meg attended the ceremony with the kiddos!) We traveled down to Jordan’s home state and spent the week with the entire Imhoff side of the family in Baton Rouge. It was such a joy of a day. Heather is so dear to us. She lives and loves so big. She’s thoughtful, shares our love for Disney World (LOVE when we get to go there with her) and oozes Southern hospitality. And we cannot be more excited in getting to welcome Matt to our family! He is as equally kind, thoughtful, and such a keeper. This day is the antithesis of a gorgeous Southern Wedding at the Governor’s Mansion. Heather handled the accommodations for Covid rules with so much grace. Enjoy all the Southern inspiration & elegance along with cameos of our siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents!

There was nothing that could stop Eric and Hajar from saying “I do” on September 12th, 2020. Between a postponement due to Covid, a Venue change, and rain all day on their new wedding date, they most certainly had their hands full. However, not even the rain could keep them from their glorious outdoor ceremony with their closest family and friends at the Glen Club.
There was nothing 2020 could throw at Hajar and Eric that could stop them from saying “I do”. Between a postponement due to Covid, a Venue change, and rain all day on their new wedding date, they most certainly had their hands full. It brought us back to what a wedding truly means. Its ALL about the bride, groom, and what they want most. Those last few minutes leading up to their long anticipated first look and then that walk down the aisle were beautiful. We love the emotion and heart that Eric and Hajar’s day was filled with. NOTHING stops love, friends. …and not only was every moment meaningful, but it was absolutely gorgeous to capture. Nate & Kristin planned their beautiful North Shore Country Club wedding all the way from California so they could celebrate in Kristin’s childhood stomping grounds. We were so blessed to have gotten to be a part of this classically elegant and sophisticated wedding day. Nate & Kristin have the kindest and most endearing hearts. Every moment of the day was focused on their love for one another and their families. It was obvious where their kindness stems from after we met their loved ones. Their first look was one for the books, as they made a last minute location change and kept the day simple by opting for a first look and portraits at their beautiful venue so we could beat the rain. I truly believe everything happens for a reason and that rain can make a day even more special. This day is proof of that! As I relived this glorious wedding day at The Haight in downtown Elgin, IL, I cannot help but remember the steam that was literally rising off the pavement as we parked our car and began to settle our gear. It was one of those days where our lenses would fog if we went back and forth between outdoors and the air conditioning. If you are a fellow Wedding Photog, I know you get what we mean. But, despite the intense heat, I cannot help but smile as I remember this beautiful bride. Erin is as lovely as they come. Like one of those brides who you can’t help but need to pinch yourself because they chose you. She was joyful, calm, and filled with love for every human who was a part of this beautiful day. And her fireman, Ryan was equally as lovely! It was such a treat to personalize their portraits with a stop at the old Elgin Fire Station. These two were surrounded by pure love, celebration, and laughter from begging to end. We are over the moon for these two and their day. And we’ve found a new local venue to whom we cannot sing higher praise. Thank you to the lovely staff at The Haight for making it such a pleasure as well! Eric and Hajar, this warm Chicago summer, Lincoln Park, Lake Michigan, and all the sweet laughter were pure bliss. This day was such a treat to relive as I sit here and watch the snow outside our window. We are so looking forward to capturing these two lovely humans and their Chicago wedding this upcoming year. If they were this happy and lovely together at their engagement session, we cannot even imagine how incredible it will be to capture their wedding day! 2020 is going to be one for the books.

Tim & Caitlin are absolutely perfect for each other. They are kind, soft spoken, thoughtful, and so beautifully organized and calm. As we walked into their hotel to start the day, the rain drops started to fall. Rain is never a problem if you’re up for it, but when we got upstairs, Caitlin already have a variety of rain options on her favorites list. Honestly, in this case, the rain worked out for the best! Her florals and colors paired perfectly with the tropical greens of the Lincoln Park Conservatory and the beautiful Presbyterian Church on Michigan Avenue. (We LOVE the city for its rain options.) Caitlin’s color palette of bright and pale pinks were such a treat! …especially captured in the green house! Flowers for Dreams never disappoint with their lush bouquets and ceremony awnings! Also, we may have fallen in love with a city venue that we had never captured until this year! Loft Lucia for the WIN! It’s intimate and the rooftop cocktail hour terrace makes for the loveliest end of the night sparkler send off photos! This day was beautifully planned between Caitlin, Tim, and Bethany Moore Events (massive shoutout for this team!) Reliving this day gave me the warm fuzzies

When we met Nick & Lorielle, we knew these two would be a treat to get to spend the day with. They are adorable as individuals and even more adorable with one another. This day was beautifully planned by these love birds with the help and guidance of our girl, Carly from LOLA Events. There wasn’t a single detail that wasn’t meticulously or thoughtfully planned. Lorielle’s elegant, sophisticated, and clean style was a dream for our cameras. After their sweet and traditional ceremony, we ventured to their favorite skylines and Chicago Architecture along with their delightful family & friends. Eric & Sara wanted to leave Chicago for a laid back destination wedding in Wisconsin, and it was perfect. The leaves had just graced the trees for the season and The Grand Geneva Resort & Spa was in full bloom. These two and their outdoor ceremony were such a treat. Eric & Sara wanted to leave Chicago for a laid back destination wedding in Wisconsin, and it was perfect. What a joy of a day to get to be a part of! We have a new found love for early spring weddings after this year. What truly made this day was the sweetness of these two and their families and friends. Kim is one of those people who is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. There are certain weddings that make me feel happy and peaceful as I relive it for our blog and this is one of them. Days surrounded by kind families, kind vendors, classic elegance, and a well planned timeline are our version of heaven. Kim’s natural color palette were a treat for our cameras. Creams, greens, and touches of natural lavender made us swoon. And let’s not even get us started on how much we adore shooting at the Rockford Bank & Trust Pavilion. Perfection. Absolute perfection.
