2021 Mini Sessions
Each year we look forward to seeing past couples and their growing families, as well as meeting amazing new couples and families for our annual mini sessions! Usually, we are trying to squeeze these sessions in at the last moment since weddings have been our main focus for the last 9 years. 2020 has given us a new perspective and appreciation for family and lifestyle photography. It’s such a privilege to capture your family, whether its a family of two or ten, toddlers or fur babies, and we can’t wait to see you again!
This year we have planned four Mini Session weekends for 2021 available for booking depending on the season you are most interested. These weekends are reserved on a first come, first serve basis and you can reserve your date and time below.
Lake Geneva Wedding Photographers | Chicago Autumn Wedding - Sarah & Scott
This was our very last wedding of 2020 and I can’t think of a better way to have capped it all off. Sarah & Scott were absolutely amazing navigating all the changes just days before their wedding as the Chicago area began shutting back down again. Many of their plans may have changed, but it didn’t seem to phase them or the joy and celebration that was October 31st, 2020. They decided on changing their reception space to a small intimate gathering with their closest family and friends at a friend’s beautiful home in the suburbs. It truly was such an honor to capture and witness such a sacred day. 2020 has changed how we see weddings and it’s all been because of the most incredible couples this year who decided that their love couldn’t be canceled. We celebrate Sarah & Scott. Their attitudes, their joy, their ability to roll with all the punches 2020 may have brought their way. If every couple can get through the challenges of what 2020 brought and still decide to tie the knot regardless what what or how they envisioned their day to be, then we truly believe they’re going to be able to weather the storm. Because marriage isn’t perfect. It’s full of a few unseen 2020’s. But, it’s about the commitment to saying yes every single day even if the circumstances surrounding you aren’t perfect. …and even though Sarah & Scott’s plans may have changed, we think it turned out even more perfect than the original plan. These two are the real deal and they showed every bit of that during this season. We respect and appreciate them both! Enjoy all the beauty from their perfect day!

It’s the perfect moment to relive this day as I sit inside on my computer avoiding this -3 day. Mark & Caitlin’s outdoor garden ceremony at the Wilder Mansion was pure joy, warmth, sunshine, and life this summer. …and this is just a taste of what’s to come for their larger celebration in 2021! It truly is a gift to get to have the loveliest couples for two years in a row despite the circumstances that has surrounded this past year. As much as we’re looking forward to this upcoming year, we’re also so thankful for Caitlin & Mark’s intimate wedding ceremony and getting to be there to capture their first look and “I do’s”. Everything about this day is filling us back up and gearing us up for more days like these. Caitlin & Mark, it was such a treat! Cannot wait to capture you both again with more of your loved ones by your side!

This a really special one for us. This fall, Jordan’s cousin Heather married her very best friend and Jordan got to capture all the love (Meg attended the ceremony with the kiddos!) We traveled down to Jordan’s home state and spent the week with the entire Imhoff side of the family in Baton Rouge. It was such a joy of a day. Heather is so dear to us. She lives and loves so big. She’s thoughtful, shares our love for Disney World (LOVE when we get to go there with her) and oozes Southern hospitality. And we cannot be more excited in getting to welcome Matt to our family! He is as equally kind, thoughtful, and such a keeper. This day is the antithesis of a gorgeous Southern Wedding at the Governor’s Mansion. Heather handled the accommodations for Covid rules with so much grace. Enjoy all the Southern inspiration & elegance along with cameos of our siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents!

Emily and Brandon are two of the most lovely humans we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. These two had a wedding scheduled for April of 2020. They were the first couple we figured this all out with and I cannot begin to express how thankful we are to still get to work with them this upcoming year as they celebrate with more of their friends and loved ones. To say that they handled this last year in stride and grace is an understatement . We have SO MUCH respect for them. Their kindness and their communication as we just simply took last spring day by day. They decided on an intimate elopement this past fall and they tied the knot in Chicago surrounded by their very closest family members. It was beautiful. Their joy wasn’t squelched by the pandemic, and we’re beyond excited to get to keep them with us this upcoming year. For now, enjoy all the beauty and joy from their first wedding celebration!

It’s been such an incredible year of meeting new families, couples, and babies! 2020 was not what we expected, but in some ways, it was better than we expected. Life keeps moving forward. Not even a pandemic can stop babies from being born. And not even a pandemic can stifle the joy of welcoming your first born and relishing those first couple of weeks as new parents. It’s the best. It’s official. We are head over heels for intimate backyard weddings. Becca & Peter are incredible. There was nothing that was going to stop these two from getting married and the joy was more beautiful than words can describe. Nothing can stop true love, friends. It was such a treat to capture these two beautiful souls and their closest family members and friends. And does it get any more meaningful than saying “I do” in your very own backyard?! I know this day was not what they were envisioning a year ago. It was better. And I cannot wait to still capture and celebrate their big reception and celebration with the entirety of their family and friends. This wedding day was a Midwest Autumn dream. The leaves were a perfect orange and it was right before they all fell. Marc & Kelsey were cool, calm, and collected despite the rain that poured from beginning to end. These two are the most perfect example of how romantic and beautiful a rainy wedding day can be if you’re willing to embrace it! The Danada House is also a perfect example of how perfect a rainy day can be there. We used their awning and porch for almost all of their portraits and grabbed a few umbrellas for more by the trees. It was just perfect and such a dream to have gotten to spend it with these two kind souls. Their entire day was a joy and smooth sailing thanks to Bethany Moore Events.

This truly was a treasure of a day! Susie & Andrew tied the knot on a blustery March day just a little over a year ago. They decided on an intimate ceremony and reception surrounded by their very closest loved ones at the fabulous Maxwell Mansion in the heart of Lake Geneva, WI. To quote the words from Susie: “Our officiant, Patrice, is a close family friend who has cut Susie's hair since age of 5. We call her aunt, and she exudes the spirit of Jesus in love, kindness, and charity. We couldn't think of anyone better to officiate our wedding.” It truly doesn’t get any sweeter than that. This day was meaningful from beginning to end. The Mansion was a perfect setting for their 1920’s Art Deco & Speak Easy vibes and there is inspiration from every inch of this day. It was such a joy to have been a part of this celebration and such an honor to work alongside the loveliest vendor friends. Thank you, Susie & Andrew, for the honor!

What an absolute delight and joy of a day to relive all over again. It was the dose of sunshine, vitamin D, and joy that I needed on Quarantine Day 467. That bright sunshine, yellows and soft blues, an insanely fun bridal party, and such a kind and fun loving couples left us with hearts full. Dan and Mica are the real deal. Not only was it a treat to just get to be with them all day, but it was also a treat to capture their authenticity. Every part of the day was centered on enjoying their loved ones, dear friends, and each other. They are DEEPLY loved and it was so easy to see why. Every part of the day, beginning to end, took place in one of our all time favorite places in this area. Geneva National is a treasure. We’re so thankful for the gift it was to capture this day and we’re so excited to finally share more!

For Chase Kristen, it was a no brainer as to where they wanted to capture their Engagement photos. Chase’s beautiful lake house sits on Benedict Lake and it was a dream to visit and capture these two in their neck of the woods. It was that warm hazy part of summer that we live for. And triple points for taking out the boat for a few more photos to end the night on.

I remember our very first meeting with Kerry & John like it was yesterday. Kerry had a vision and a plan for her wedding day that made us clap and jump up and down and get so excited we were ready to capture it then and there. It wasn’t necessarily her vision in the lush florals and color scheme (don’t get me wrong, I was swooning over that too) but, it was her passion for her family and the way she wanted to honor her beautiful parents and give so much meaning, tradition, and sacredness to their first look and ceremony. That is why they had chosen the gorgeous Rosary Chapel at Dominican University to begin their marriage story. Kerry’s parents were also married in this chapel and it was so important for Kerry to honor that tradition for their own beginning. Kerry & John’s first look and portraits were also captured in the exact locations where her parents’ photos were captured as well. It was such a meaningful tradition and a complete honor to have captured these two beautiful souls there where it all started. Can we also just tip our hats to the gorgeous and such florals by Avant Gardenia and celebrate the gorgeous space at the Westin O’Hare?! Their staff was such a treat to work alongside and we couldn’t sing higher praise.

This day was exactly what I needed to relive on this cold and grey January day. As I relived all of these moments from Molly & Richard’s summer wedding at Independence Grove in Libertyville, I could feel the warm breeze and sunshine on my skin. This day was heaven on earth. This day was exactly what I needed to relive on this cold and grey January day. As I relived all of these moments from Molly & Richard’s summer wedding at Independence Grove in Libertyville, I could feel the warm breeze and sunshine on my skin. This day was heaven on earth. If what you give out truly comes back to you someday, then these two have a whole lot of goodness coming their way. As I relived this glorious wedding day at The Haight in downtown Elgin, IL, I cannot help but remember the steam that was literally rising off the pavement as we parked our car and began to settle our gear. It was one of those days where our lenses would fog if we went back and forth between outdoors and the air conditioning. If you are a fellow Wedding Photog, I know you get what we mean. But, despite the intense heat, I cannot help but smile as I remember this beautiful bride. Erin is as lovely as they come. Like one of those brides who you can’t help but need to pinch yourself because they chose you. She was joyful, calm, and filled with love for every human who was a part of this beautiful day. And her fireman, Ryan was equally as lovely! It was such a treat to personalize their portraits with a stop at the old Elgin Fire Station. These two were surrounded by pure love, celebration, and laughter from begging to end. We are over the moon for these two and their day. And we’ve found a new local venue to whom we cannot sing higher praise. Thank you to the lovely staff at The Haight for making it such a pleasure as well! Erin & Ryan, you two are incredible and we hope your lifetime is filled with as much fun as your wedding day!

Every moment of the day was planned with so much intention and honor towards their story, loved ones, and family. Kristen and Geoff are surrounded by the most incredible tribe who came together to celebrate them and it’s clear that they couldn’t be more adored. The joy and laughter filled us to the brim and it’s even a blessing to have relived this day to share with you all today. Their lakeside ceremony and tented reception was equally beautiful, elegant, and relaxed. Lawn games filled the grounds and the sweetest littles filled the resort running, playing, and enjoying every moment with their families. It just doesn’t get any more delightful than this.
