We’re so thankful for every single couple we’ve had the honor of getting to document this year. Each month was a gift. Each and ever wedding so uniquely different and wonderful. Eric and Hajar, this warm Chicago summer, Lincoln Park, Lake Michigan, and all the sweet laughter were pure bliss. This day was such a treat to relive as I sit here and watch the snow outside our window. We are so looking forward to capturing these two lovely humans and their Chicago wedding this upcoming year. If they were this happy and lovely together at their engagement session, we cannot even imagine how incredible it will be to capture their wedding day! 2020 is going to be one for the books.

Lake Geneva Wedding Photographers | Loft Lucia Chicago Wedding - Tim & Caitlin
Tim & Caitlin are absolutely perfect for each other. They are kind, soft spoken, thoughtful, and so beautifully organized and calm. As we walked into their hotel to start the day, the rain drops started to fall. Rain is never a problem if you’re up for it, but when we got upstairs, Caitlin already have a variety of rain options on her favorites list. Honestly, in this case, the rain worked out for the best! Her florals and colors paired perfectly with the tropical greens of the Lincoln Park Conservatory and the beautiful Presbyterian Church on Michigan Avenue. (We LOVE the city for its rain options.) Caitlin’s color palette of bright and pale pinks were such a treat! …especially captured in the green house! Flowers for Dreams never disappoint with their lush bouquets and ceremony awnings! Also, we may have fallen in love with a city venue that we had never captured until this year! Loft Lucia for the WIN! It’s intimate and the rooftop cocktail hour terrace makes for the loveliest end of the night sparkler send off photos! This day was beautifully planned between Caitlin, Tim, and Bethany Moore Events (massive shoutout for this team!) Reliving this day gave me the warm fuzzies

When we met Nick & Lorielle, we knew these two would be a treat to get to spend the day with. They are adorable as individuals and even more adorable with one another. This day was beautifully planned by these love birds with the help and guidance of our girl, Carly from LOLA Events. There wasn’t a single detail that wasn’t meticulously or thoughtfully planned. Lorielle’s elegant, sophisticated, and clean style was a dream for our cameras. After their sweet and traditional ceremony, we ventured to their favorite skylines and Chicago Architecture along with their delightful family & friends. Their destinations and our favorite foggy Chicago weather did not disappoint as a backdrop for these cuties. The most perfect spring wedding day. The trees were showing off and in full bloom for Kim & Thad’s Rockford wedding. They were almost as beautiful and lovely as Kim. What a joy of a day to get to be a part of!

What a joy of a day to get to be a part of! We have a new found love for early spring weddings after this year. What truly made this day was the sweetness of these two and their families and friends. Kim is one of those people who is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. There are certain weddings that make me feel happy and peaceful as I relive it for our blog and this is one of them. Days surrounded by kind families, kind vendors, classic elegance, and a well planned timeline are our version of heaven. Kim’s natural color palette were a treat for our cameras. Creams, greens, and touches of natural lavender made us swoon. And let’s not even get us started on how much we adore shooting at the Rockford Bank & Trust Pavilion. Perfection. Absolute perfection. If I could hand pick a wedding to kickstart our entire 2019 Wedding Season, it would have been this one. We’re so thankful to have come out of our winter hibernation to the loveliness of this Spring wedding at Independence Grove in Libertyville, IL. The leaves and buds had just started to pop this weekend and these two love birds were blessed with the first warm day of the year. Jose and Maggie were an absolute joy to capture and I cannot help but smile as I go through this day all over again. Maggie’s color palette and details were glorious. Whites, ivories, and lots of greens. Her gown, makeup, and hair by Patty McGuire were perfection. Elegant simplicity will never go out of style. Also, we love getting to spend a day on the grounds of Independence Grove in Libertyville, IL and working alongside their incredible staff. From the moment we met Matt and Meghan months and months before their wedding day, we just completely clicked. It was such a joy to be a part of this day from the moment it began until the moment it ended. These two are one in a million. The smiles were constant and easy. They were so naturally calm, laid back, and just ready to be married. Their families and friends were as equally delightful. The sun glowed as beautifully as these two did. We’re crazy over this day and I’m so excited to finally share some of our favorite moments from it.

As I sit here watching the rain pour outside, I can’t help but feel all cozy and warm as I relive Tara & Trevor’s warm September wedding at the Marriott Lincolnshire. These two were such a joy to capture from beginning to end. After capturing days like this, I love the harp on how Stress -Free your wedding day can be if you plan for it from the very beginning! So, future brides, take notes from our girl, Tara! …make sure you keep a lookout for their beautiful lei exchange at their outdoor ceremony. They lived in Hawaii for a while before coming back to their original homes and incorporated that part of their journey into their beautiful ceremony!

These two were such a joy to capture from beginning to end. After spending the day with their entire bridal party and family, it’s easy to see that Tara & Trevor are so LOVED. …they’re very easy to love! We always enjoy getting to capture a wedding day at the Marriott Lincolnshire. There is so much to be said for an all inclusive venue where you can spend the day free of stress and travel. From getting ready, to fist look, to ceremony, to reception: everything is just right outside your doorstep. This setup was incredible and the their team was on point. …not only did they have everything all in one location, but they also had a planner who was on top of the small details. Brides, if you’re considering having a wedding planner or a day of coordinator, we promise that will be something that you will NOT regret it! After capturing days like this, I love the harp on how Stress -Free your wedding day can be if you plan for it from the very beginning! So, future brides, take notes from our girl, Tara! Keeping things simple, like locations, can be a LIFESAVER! And , ultimately, the less you travel on your wedding day, the more you can enjoy genuine & natural photo time, time with your friends and loved ones, and even time to stop and enjoy a cocktail for the entirety of your cocktail hour! Yes, it can be done! We loved this day, this couple, the wonderful guys over at Oakhouse Wedding Films, and the joy these two had for each other all day. …make sure you keep a lookout below for their beautiful lei exchange at their outdoor ceremony. I think more couples need to have morning brunch weddings. Because nothing says “I love you” more than celebrating over heaping plates of Chicken N’ Waffles and Southern Shrimp & Grits! I’m mean, Come On! Everything about this Danada House wedding day was as warm, cheerful, meaningful, and as beautiful as Scott & Courtney are on the inside & out.

Every square inch of this day was surrounded by the most lush floral displays by Lilypots. (Their floral chandelier at the Grand Geneva is a MUST see!) Lianna & Charlie’s guests lounged on luxurious velvet chairs, including their insanely romantic sweetheart table by Forever Birdy and floral backdrop by Lilypots. The Yerkes Observatory made for a grand backdrop for their portraits! Lianna & Charlie, what an honor and a joy it was to capture your day. It was such an honor to capture these two who so naturally laughed, and played the whole day long. Even when we were in a race against the late August rain, these two were calm, cool, and all smiles. This classic Estate wedding was so light hearted and so fun that we couldn’t help but feel all filled up inside. Truly, two of the kindest and warmest souls. Their gorgeous color scheme was inspired by the classic beauty of the Patrick C Haley Mansion and highlighted with the gorgeous florals created by Petal Play Designs. Whites, creams, champagnes, golds, and fresh greens. Everything that makes our heats twitterpated. We’ll always remember this day. All the love, joy, sweet glances between Ashley & Kyle, …and last but not least, that dance floor! You’ve go to love a groom who does the worm on his wedding day!

The girl who moved in next door finally became Mrs. Zuidema and it was such an honor to capture everything they had been waiting for finally coming to fruition! Sam & Lara have a story that makes us as warm and fuzzy as their Grand Geneva wedding day. Lara moved in next door to Sam when they were just kids. They grew up together. Their families were dear friends, their siblings became good friends, and eventually Sam & Lara became more than just friends. Sam was dedicated to finishing Law School before starting this next season of life. Their patience and hard work were well worth it as we captured everything they waited for come to fruition on this day. These two are as kind and warm as their Midwestern August Wedding. Lara’s smile and laughter are contagious. The way Sam looked at her as she came down the aisle was everything.
